Man arrested walking his pet...WHAT?! By Mandeep Rai

Police were called to Brighton city centre last month after getting reports from worried locals about a man walking his pet snake!

There were several complaints made about the large snake being dropped onto the ground near the public, causing a panic across the sunny seaside town. Worried locals were even offered a chance to hold the snake by it's owner, and it wasn't long until the police were called.

The man was shocked to find the police show up, and felt it was unnecessary, and a waste of their time. He asked if they would have showed up if they had received reports of someone walking their pet dog! While dogs aren't considered nearly as dangerous as snakes, he has a point! He argued his points for a while, being caught on camera by the Brighton locals, before finally giving in and accepting the police's points to remove his pet python from the streets, and to stop asking the public if they wanted to interact with it.

In order to protect the public, the man and his pet python were then escorted back to the man's car. He was once again asked to keep the snake in the car, away from the streets to prevent further chaos.

Apparently people had stopped and asked to pet the snake, and did so without the snake lashing out at them. It begs the question.. was it wrong of him to bring his pet snake to the city centre? What's the strangest animal you've heard of people keeping as a pet?
