Keir Starmer speaks out against Boris Johnson by Mandeep Rai

Sir Keir Starmer has called on Boris Johnson to impose a “circuit-breaker” lockdown of 2-3 weeks across England to bring the Coronavirus pandemic under control. The Labour leader has spoke out against the three tier system and insisted that Boris Johnson should heed the scientists’ opinions and impose a strict lockdown. He argued that this was the only thing that would bring out of this disaster.

It was revealed that three weeks ago, Boris went against the scientists’ advice and instead chose to go his own route which has angered Starmer.

Starmer, in a televised press conference, said a 2-3 week national lockdown over half term was needed to not only work on improving the much criticised track and test system, but to prevent a “sleepwalk into a long and bleak winter”.

This is reminiscent to the bleak lockdown the UK faces in March. What are your thoughts?
