Boris makes yet another U-Turn by Mandeep Rai

This afternoon Boris Johnson announced that he he is providing a £60 million support package for Greater Manchester. In a bid to get the North back on side, Boris announced the package and said it was in fact Andy Burnham who had turned down an "extra £60 million".

Speaking to the Commons, Boris said "I can tell the House today that that cash will be distributed to the boroughs of Greater Manchester" and proceeded to thanks the MPS who had spoke out against Burnham.

Another u-turn by Boris as he loses more favour in the public arena. He had been criticised by many as using the people of Manchester as a pawn to punish the Labour mayer Andy Burnham for not rolling over with the initial amount that the government had offered.

Sir Keir Starmer was not satisfied with this and proceeded to list the vast sums of money that the government had happily wasted in this pandemic by giving lucrative contracts to the friends for PPE, the Track and Trace system etc.  He spoke out about the way that the Tories had handled the situation in the North and stated that it should be dealt with as "One Nation" as opposed to "pitting mayor against mayor and region against region".
